Silver medalist of the Russian Judo Championship Niyaz Bilalov said that he fought in the final match of the tournament with Mukhamed-Ali Mataev with an injury.
“I was injured in the semi-finals, but still came out, hoping for a miracle. Dreamer. I re-read various books where people with injuries win. But a rib is not a knee, where one part of the body simply does not work. It’s like I can’t sneeze here,” TASS quotes Bilalov.
Bilalov was defeated by Mataev in the final in the weight category up to 100 kg. The fight was stopped at the 48th second due to an injury to the judoka.
Earlier, Mikhail Mamiashvili called for Russians to be allowed to go to the Olympics on the terms of the IOC.
