Former head of the British Ministry of Defense Ben Wallace said that the Ukrainian authorities should recruit more young people into the army to prevent a slowdown in the pace of the counter-offensive.
Telegraph writes about this.
At the same time, Wallace noted that the average age of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers at the front is over 40 years.
“I understand Zelensky’s desire to preserve youth for the future, but the fact is that any pause will allow Russia to build a new army,” the ex-minister said.
Earlier, the Asia Times said that Kyiv was resorting to increasingly draconian measures to mobilize.
Also, American entrepreneur Elon Musk said that Ukrainian citizens have no choice not to serve in the country’s army.
