Lithuania expressed a protest to the Russian side after the removal of a memorial sign in Vladimir in honor of the leader of the Catholic Church of Lithuania, Archbishop Mecislovas Reinis.
This was stated by the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
As noted in the message, Charge d’Affaires of Russia Alexander Yolkin was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic, who was presented with a note of protest in connection with the destruction of the memorial sign to Reinis and the demand for its restoration.
Earlier, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed Russian Ambassador Sergei Kopyrkin a note of protest due to the fact that “unacceptable statements” were made on Russian television regarding the leadership of the republic.
