Honored coach Viktor Yanchuk expressed his opinion regarding the defeat of Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina in the semi-finals of the WTA Small Final Tournament.
“This is a normal result of the fight, because their strengths are almost equal. The match turned out to be quite interesting, but the tennis player from Brazil is bigger and more powerful than Kasatkina. And she plays more impressively. And Dasha seems to be playing the ball well, weaving an interesting game web, but she lacks sharp offensive actions,” RIA Novosti quotes Yanchuk as saying.
Kasatkina was defeated by Brazilian Beatriz Haddad-Maia in the semi-final match of the small final tournament with a score of 4:6, 1:6. The meeting lasted 1 hour 33 minutes.
The 26-year-old Russian served twice, made two double faults and did not earn a single break point.
In the final of the WTA Small Final Tournament, the Brazilian tennis player will meet the winner of the game between Chinese women Zhu Lin and Zheng Qingwen.
It was previously reported that Kasatkina finished the season without a WTA title for the first time since 2020.
