The Central Bank of Russia announced its intention to conduct ecosystem regulation based on the principle of proportionality, providing for stricter control for larger platforms.
This is stated in the draft of the financial regulator of the main directions of development of the Russian financial market for 2024 and the period 2025-2026.
“The Bank of Russia believes that it is necessary to continue developing approaches to regulating platform and ecosystem businesses,” the document states.
It is noted that such regulation should not create barriers to the processes of structural transformation and digitalization of the economy.
“It should be based on the principle of proportionality depending on the size of the platform/ecosystem and the potential risks from their activities, that is, more requirements should be imposed on the largest participants,” the project emphasizes.
Earlier, the Central Bank of Russia stated that restrictions on the movement of capital should be targeted and limited in time.
