The United States will create an institute for security issues related to artificial intelligence (AI). US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo announced the move on Wednesday while speaking at an international conference in the UK. This was reported by the Voice of America.
The Institute will participate in the development of international standards for the safety, security and testing of AI models.
“We cannot do this alone, the private sector must step forward,” the US Secretary of Commerce emphasized and announced a partnership with the British Security Institute.
On Monday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order on artificial intelligence issues, obliging developers of AI systems that pose a risk to US national security, the economy, or public health to provide test results to the government for review.
