On the night of December 7, the Russian military attacked Ukraine with 18 Shahed drones (in Russian terminology, “Geranium”) launched from the territory of the annexed Crimea. 15 of them were shot down, according to the command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The main directions of attack, the report says, were Odessa and Khmelnytsky regions.
As a result of a drone attack on port infrastructure in the Odessa region, one person, a truck driver, was killed. This was announced by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Kiper. Warehouses, elevators and trucks were damaged. The resulting fire has already been extinguished.
The authorities of the Khmelnytsky region have not yet reported the consequences of the attack.
The Russian military did not comment on the drone attack.
Since the summer, after Russia pulled out of the grain deal, Russian troops have regularly launched strikes in the Odessa region using different types of weapons. Most often, port infrastructure facilities are attacked.
