Since the spring of 2022, the governor of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako, has been using the White Pearl yacht worth almost 1.2 billion rubles, Vestka found out.
The 37-meter vessel, model EVO 120, was launched in the summer of 2021 at the Italian shipyard Tecnomar, and was imported to Russia in April 2022 from South Korea. She has four guest cabins that can accommodate eight people.
The owner of the yacht, according to the publication, is hidden behind the offshore company WP Management Ltd from the British Virgin Islands, which acted as the shipper. Allegedly, the yacht was registered to the former captain of the Black Sea Fleet, Shakir Jafarov. From Federal Tax Service leaks, journalists learned that at least in 2020, Jafarov received a salary at the Ozernovsky fish canning plant No. 55, co-owned by the governor’s son Nikita Kozhemyako.
In October 2023, the vessel was registered in the name of Igor Tivyakov. According to the Federal Tax Service, in 2020 and 2021 he worked in the economic department of the government of Primorsky Krai. In the phone books of other users, his number is recorded as “Igor captain of the governor’s yacht” and “Igor governor’s boat,” writes “Layout”.
Now the yacht White Pearl is located on the territory of the Zvezda shipbuilding complex, this information was confirmed to the publication by two employees of the enterprise. The plant is engaged in the construction and repair of large-tonnage vessels, in particular tankers for Rosneft, but, as noted, it does not service yachts.
Oleg Kozhemyako became governor of the Primorsky Territory in December 2018. He also served as governor of the Koryak Autonomous Okrug (2005–2007), governor of the Amur Region (2008–2015), and governor of the Sakhalin Region (2015–2018). Since November 2019, he has been secretary of the Primorsky regional branch of the United Russia party.
