The Russian Ministry of Justice has included the American research organization RAND Corporation on its “undesirable” list. The Prosecutor General’s Office made a decision on this on November 21, but this was not officially announced.
RAND (the name is derived from the abbreviation of the words research and development – “study and development”) is a non-profit organization founded in 1948. It was created by spinning off the Douglas Aircraft Company, a former American aircraft manufacturer that later merged with Boeing.
According to RAND’s website, the organization “develops solutions to public policy problems to help make communities around the world safer, healthier, and more prosperous.”
Earlier it became known that the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the American organization Russian America for Democracy in Russia as “undesirable” at the request of State Duma deputy Andrei Lugovoy.
