Multiple Russian diving champion Elizaveta Kuzina admitted that she has enough patience to lift sanctions from domestic sports.
“I can wait until 2036. I think everyone has their own motivation. Personally, I feel that I can do better, that I can develop. Every year I want to improve my points, the quality of my jumps, and learn something new. While there is time, you need to do this,” Metaratings quotes Kuzina.
In March 2023, the IOC announced recommendations for the admission of Russians to international competitions, which include individual admission, neutral status, a ban on participation in team sports, a ban on the participation of athletes associated with security forces or expressing support for the SVO.
The Russian diving team did not apply to compete in the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) competitions in a neutral status and will now miss the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Earlier, Kuzina called the springboard a more complex projectile than the tower.
